Please note that there is a difference between a supported device vs a recommended device.
- Supported device : A device can be used in an application, it is compatiable and may serve in the same role or application as the recommended device.
- Recommended device : A device that code samples and extended product support is provided for. It is most likely a general purpose device that is capable of fulfulling most roles and suiting most applications.
- Unsupported Device : While most devices in the PIC families are cross-compatiable, owing to minor differences from a hardware or pinout perspective, they do not replace the supported or recommended device.
